サイパン紀行(Tour In Saipan)
ＢＢＱ初の海外ツアー(From September 26th to 29th in 1996)
９月２６日 いざ出発 September26th. We set off for Saipan
午前９時４５分発ノースウェスト６２便サイパンゆき、いよいよＢＢＱ初の海外ツアーがスタートただで済まないのがＢＢＱの旅、この日も出足から多難つづきでした。
NW Flight 62 to Saipan departure time was 9:45! Our first trip abroad was going to start.But our trip would have some troubles. Because on this day we had a lot of unpredictable problems.
午前６時成田空港へ車で出発、しかし何と見通しの悪いことか首都高速で渋滞につかまり、１時間以上もロスしてしまいました。その後、やっと空港の近くまでは来たものの、道を間違えて駐車場ではなく、空港ターミナルへ行ってしまった。 国道にもどって駐車場を探すが、どこかわからない。Ｏｈ Ｍｙ Ｇｏｄ！この時点ですでにツアーの集合時間の８時１５分を過ぎていました。
At 6 o'clock AM, We started to go to Narita airport by car. But we got caught in a traffic jam on the highway. So we lost an hour.We came near Narita airport.but we lost our way. We couldn't reach the airport. (oh my God!).
結局空港に着いたのが、出発１時間前の８時４５分。あわただしく出国審査を終え、いざ搭乗。「こんなあわただしい出発は初めてだよ。」と言った仲間にうなづく私（でも海外旅行が初めての私には解らない）
The meeting time of our tour was 8:15. after all we reached the airport an hour before departure time. then we passed immigration and went on board a airplane.In the airplane we had a lot of problems.
サイパン空港で皆あ然 We were disappointed at Saipan airport
フライト中も、機内食のハンバーガーを誰かが盗った盗らないの騒ぎ（どうしてこうも問題が起こるのだろうか）、とにかくそうしている間にサイパン上空に到着。でも飛行機は、何度もサイパン上空を旋回します。それは、サイパン島上空が厚い雲に覆われているせいだったのです。 横風にあおられながらも機は無事着陸。そしてそこには、皆があ然とする事実があったのです。その日は、スーパーモンスーンが通過した翌日で天候は最悪、嵐のような風と雨。空港を出てツアーバスに乗り込む間に服はびしょびしょになってしまったのです。（日本では、台風一過と言いますが、サイパンでは違うみたいです。）
Our members love trouble. We approached Saipan island while we did so. But our airplane wasn't going to descend and turned around the island several times. Because Saipan island was coverd with big clouds. After a while we landed safely. When we went out of the airport,
ため息 We sighed!
バスの中で、でるのはため息ばかり。美しいはずの海は、雨に流された土で茶色に染まっていたのです。（ここは、江ノ島じゃないよね！）ホテルに着いても、雨は激しさを増すばかり（えーい、こうなりゃヤケ酒だーい）初日から脆くも我々の計画は崩れさったのです。
we were very disappointed. It was teribble weather. Wind and rain were like a typhoon.It was day after the supermonsoon had passed. Our clothes got wett while we got into the bus.
この写真は、崩れ去った計画の結果です。ホテル内のレストラン（鉄板焼き）で食事をしました。本当は屋外でＢＢＱ（バーベキュウ）の予定だったのです。
In the bus we only sighed. The sea which we thought beautiful was brown with mud.When we reached the hotel, the rain was getting heavier. from first day our plans had to be changed. These photos were result of our changed plans. We had dinner at the restaurnt of our hotel. Our plan for this day had been a BBQ party out doors.
９月２７日 サイパンは今日も雨（のちくもり）だった September 27th. Today's weather was rainy (after cloudy) too.
失意に満ちたサイパン初日から一夜開けて、今日の天気はう〜ん（今日もヤケ酒だ〜い） 我々の中によほど行いの悪い奴がいるらしい。歌の文句じゃないぜ？でも、われらがリーダー大野総帥は前向きです。ＢＩＧＢＯＹＺUの人と連絡をとっている。この時期は、雨期で少しでも天候のいい時に島（マニャガハ島）に行くほうがいいと言うアドバイスを受けた我々は、気を取り直しマニャガハ島へ渡る決心をしました。
The second day dawned. "What's the weather like?". It was teribble weahter today too. We must be cursed.We thought that we were going to drink all day. But our leader OHNO was very positive.He called to the staff of BIGBOYZ2MARINE. According to the staff this season was rainy season and we should go to an island (Managaha island) if weather were little better. We obeyed this advice and decided to go Managaha.
使者 Envoi
そんな我々の前に現れたＢＩＧＢＯＹＺUの使者が、我々を迎えに乗って来た車はピンクのオープンカー（ダットサントラック）だったのです。以後、この車がわれわれのトランスポーターとなりました。そして、このＢＩＧＢＯＹＺUよりの使者は、１／４は日本人（おばーさんが日本人）だったのです。
The envoy of BIGBOYZ2MARINE came to our hotel to send us to the Marina by PINK OPEN CAR (DATSUN TRUCK)(We called it PINK CAB).From that time this car became our transporter everywhere.And this envoy is a quarter of Japanese.本文
なんでも彼のおばーさんは、北海道にいるそうで彼は、日本に何度か来たことがあると言っていました。（彼は、日本語が上手だった。）この後われわれは、マニャガハ島に渡るべくトランスポーターに乗り込んだのでした。サイパン島は、車を運転するのにシートベルトをしていないと違反になるそうです。（でも、荷台に乗ったわれわれをパトロールカーの警察官が見ても何も言われませんでした。サイパンの道交法ってどうなってるの！）
His grandma is Japanese and lives in Hokkaido. So he came to Japan several times.(his Japanese was very good). After then we got into PINK CAB to go to Managaha island.In Saipan people are obligated to wear seatbelts when they drive.(But when policeofficer saw us on the PINK CAB, they didn't say anything!)
天候は、それほど良くありませんでしたがわれわれは、マリンスポーツを堪能しました
９月２８日 これでなくちゃ！ September 28th. Excelent!
サイパンツアー３日目、やっと待望の天気になりました。（天は、われわれを見捨てなかった.サイパンでは、スーパーモンスーンが、過ぎても４〜５日は天候が回復しないらしいです。われわれはラッキーでした。）南国のむせかえるような熱気、これこそが我々が待ち望んでいたサイパンです。
The 3rd day of our tour in Saipan. It became our long-expected weather. Sky was high and sea was marineblue.We were lucky. In Saipan weather doesn't become good for 4 or 5 days after supermonsoon passes.
しかし、われわれの激貧ツアーは続いていました。（朝食は、カップヌードルかパン、最も前日飲み過ぎで食欲はなし）そして今日の予定は、待望の天気ゆえ全員意見一致かと思えばさにあらず。サイパン島内観光チームとマニャガハ島ツアーグループに別れてしまいました。まあ、そこがＢＢＱメンバーらしいところです。（安易な妥協はしない）
We looked forward to this tropical atmosphere. But our poor tour continued. Our breakfast was bread or cupnudle! And "what today's plan ?". "Does our opinion agree with all?". Answer was No. Some of our member went to Managaha. and others went sightseeing in Saipan.But that is BBQ member.they never agree with easily.
島内観光 Sight seeing
こちらは、オーソドックスに島内観光です。せっかく来たのに、マニャガハ島だけじゃね！レンタカーを借りて、島内を一まわりしました。サイパンの道路は広くて走り易いのですが、舗装が悪く、大きな穴があいていたりします。日本の道路事情とはだいぶ違いますね。 右側通行も最初は緊張しました。
These members went sightseeing. They thought only Managaha was unsatisfactory.They rented a car and went around the Saipan island. According to them Saipan's road was so wide that they could drive easily. But they were surprised at a pavement. The streets were badly laid with asphalt. There was big hole on the road. they were very different form Japanese streets.
ここは、島の北部のサンロケで観光パンフレットにもよく載っているＤＦＳのラ・フィエスタ・サンロケがあります。近くにニッコー・サイパンホテルもありますが、それ以外は何もありません。ガラパン、ススペと比べると少し田舎です。
Here is the San roque.there are La Fiesta San Roque where is usually on the pamphlet and Nikko Siapn hotel. But except there there is nothing.here is little countory compare with Garapan or Susupe.
また、右の写真はラストコマンドポストです。５０年もの時の流れが、ここだけ止まっているかのように感じられました。
And right photo is Last Command Post. It seemed to me time stpped only here.
マニャガハ島チーム
一方こちらは、マニャガハ島チーム。マニャガハも２日目となると馴れたもの！ピンクキャブ（われらがトランスポーター）に乗っていざ出陣！
And they(right photo) are Managaha group. they were good at enjoying !they were going to start by the Pink Cab.

２日目のマニャガハ島は、１日目とはまったくの別世界でした。海の色も、空の色も！これこそが、本当の南国！です。（サイパン島観光へ行った奴の気がしれないよ！）ビーチも、さながらプライベートビーチ！（１日目とは違うポイントへ行きました）魚たちも、心なしか嬉しそうです。
The second day of Managaha was totally different form first day. marine blue sea and heigher sky.this was our long-expected tropical island. Managaha beach,it seemed like private beach.
９月２９日 帰りたくないよー September 29th. We wouldn't like to go home !
われわれの旅も最終日です。楽しい時の経つのはなんと速いのでしょう。いろいろな事があったツアーも、いよいよ最終日です。でも、最後の最後までじたばたするのがＢＢＱです。まだまだ、一波乱ありそうです。
Time flies !" The last day of our tour. We had a lot of fun. So we wouldn't like to go home. But actuality was strict. we had to go home.
まずは、お土産を買わなくては、近くにＤＦＳギャラリア（免税店）があり皆そこで買い物をしました。ガラパンはこの店だけでなくディスカウントショップが、幾つかありそちらへ行った者もいます。
First we had to buy souvenirs for our friends and family. There was DFS Galleria (Duty Free Shoppers).We all did our shopping there. and there were sevral discount shop. Some of us went there.
買い物をしていると何と時間の経つのが速いことか、すぐにツアーの集合時間になりました。われわれは、渋々サイパン空港へ向かうツアーバスに乗り込んだでした。
It became a time to gather. Time passed fast. We weren't willing to get a tour bus.
空港への帰路は、来たときとはまるで違った景色です。（なんでこんなに天気がいいの！帰りたくないよー！）来たときにはわからなかったのですが、サイパン空港ロビーには空調設備ありませんでした。空港で、諸手続きを終え、出発の時間。 １６時４０分発ノースウェスト６２便東京（成田）ゆき、われわれを乗せた飛行機は現実の世界へと戻って行ったのでした。（また、来るぞー！）
When we were going to Saipan airport, we saw different views of Saipan. "What's a fantastic weather!" when we reached at Saipan form Jpan, we didnt know there wasn't airconditioner at the airport. It's 16:40 NW Flight 63 for Tokyo(Narita). Our airplane was going to home (real world). We thought "We shall return again".
